It's been a while since I had any new art to put up here (busy with other stuff) and been a very long time since I attempted to paint anything like this lovely old Mercedes convertible. Unlike most of my paintings which begin only after a detailed plan is formulated, this one grew and evolved along the way, with the clouds, sailboats and even placement of the car being tweaked and added. What did remain from the first notion of painting my friend Gerrys' car, was the notion that is should evoke some of the glamour and style of the era that it first appeared, which was 1957. To finish off the piece, I am installed it in an aluninium shadow box frame which mirrors the brilliant finish of the gemlike190SL.
