Commissioned Work
Establishing balance in my artistic endeavors
I count myself among the long tradition of artists who have plied their trade on both sides of the artistic divide; that is as both a fine artist as well as a commercial artist. The former paints whatever they choose to, with the hope that someone will appreciate it enough to take the artwork home, and the latter is a 'hired gun' who is asked to create an image based on the request of a client for use in an ad or book jacket, for example. While I enjoy the freedom and challenge of coming up with my own ideas to paint, working together with others to realize a collective creative goal, is equally rewarding.
Growth through the Gallery
Since the opening of the Kilby Gallery, commissioned work is expanding to occupy a larger share of my painting projects, which is fine by me. I always strive for my very best with these pieces so that along with meeting or exceeding the clients' expectations, these paintings achieve the same high standards I set for my own art and will be proudly exhibited within my body of work.
If there is a special scene, home, car, person, pet or who knows what that you would like to see transformed into your very own custom designed original piece of art, please get in touch and we can discuss the possibilities!
