On one of the less than frequent convertible worthy days this past month, we got a visit from one of our most favourite models at the Kilby Gallery! Seen in the north window is a limited edition print of the painiting entitled 'South Shore Motoring', which was based on the car seen here. The enchanting lines and gleaming beauty of this classic auto were a challenge to capture but came out quite well, with the original selling before the final brush strokes were applied. Limited to just 12 editions, the signed and framed print on display in the window is one of a handful still available. Don't wait too long and risk being disappointed in adding this much admired piece of art to land on your walls!

This is the third time this paticular bicycle has shown up in a painting of mine, although I wouldn't say it has unchallenged top billing in this piece. The large shapes of contrasting colours seem to dominate the first impression of this painting. Something about the bike and its placement leaves one pondering who rode it there, did they pass through one of the brightly painted doors, and how long ago did it last go anywhere? I also enjoy sowing these narrative seeds in my work, then leave it to the audience to fill in the pages as they wish.
